Multistrada Motolights

My favorite mod to my 2006 1000 S so far, is without a doubt, the fabulous set of Motolights that I had installed at my first 600 mile service in March.

Yes, I know that they are quite straight-forward to install yourself, but I was extremely busy at the time, and had a severe case of the 'Gotta have it now' syndrome, that can easily occur to habitual Ducati owners!

Anyway, I can't speak highly enough about them: Besides the obvious addition of more light to fill in the blank spots at night, they really do the most work in the daytime, in my opinion. I have really noticed cars stopping dead in their tracks (the ones that are always about to turn left in
front of you), and taking a notice of my approaching bike as never before!

Now this is by no means an excuse to stop being extremely defensive at all times.......it simply adds another layer of conspicuity and overall safety to the Urban riding experience.

Past posts have brought up concerns about their mounting-spot on the brake caliper, both in terms of added weight as well as fear of debris hitting them. I have sensed absolutely no difference in the handling of the suspension (Ummm......Ohlins!) nor do I worry about them being damaged by rocks, etc... because they are very hardy in their construction. Also, Motolights guarantee to replace even the light bulbs for life!

The Motolights come with a specific caliper replacement bolt made just for our Multistradas, and the kit that comes with it is very thoughtfully laid-out with detailed instructions and good diagrams for self-installation.

Please don't ask me what I paid the dealer to have them installed...... (insert red-faced smiley face here).  I think that if you have normal mechanical skills, you should attempt to install them yourself......much cheaper!

Cheers!
