Heavy Cycles LED Tail Light

This thing is frightening BRIGHT. There is no amount of emphasis I can express to tell you how bright this LED brake light is. As I sit typing this, about 2 hours after the installation, I briefly wink or close my eyes and I can still see the brake lights image burned into my retina. I am not kidding. I’m seriously concerned that it’s so bright it might in some way be illegal. It’s like a death-star laser beam aimed at the poor person behind you, beside you, or anywhere near your back end!

I was concerned about spending $239.00 bucks for an LED taillight when you can see LED Taillights for as cheap as $49.00. What makes this so much better? Well, you can tell from right when you get it that this isn’t some cheezy “bought it on eBay” light. This is a serious piece of lighting. The product looks and feels substantial, it’s heavy, it’s organized and put together very professionally.

The board is laden with 64 automotive quality LEDs. BRIGHT LED’s. I’m telling you, BRIGHT. This LED is done right. If you think about it, some of the newer cars that have LED taillights only have about 10-12 LED’s per taillight, and they’re pretty bright. Now imagine 64! The other neat thing about LED's is that it has this "instant on-off" effect. It seems "crisper", if you get my drift.

Installation was pretty straightforward. I chose to solder my wiring instead of using the enclosed Posi-lock connectors. The only issue was with the positioning of the LED board in the light housing and then securing it with GOOP. There is no real “locked-in” position, or piece of housing to butt the board against. It just sits there, secured by the GOOP. You want to be sure and test fit the red lens so to have a better understanding of the board’s final position. Also use an applicator or tapered tip to apply the GOOP.

I’ve added some images so you can see what it looks like and also get a better idea of the BRIGHTNESS. IMHO, I highly recommend this product. I got it from Joe Albe at www.Heavycycles.com
